SUPERSTARS ACTUALLY PLAY WELL |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
You know it's not going to be a usual day when
Barry wins the toss and opts to bat. With the Superstars in and the oppo looking more adhoc
than their name suggested, the onslaught began. George and Vijay gave stars a flying start
with Vj retiring soon in an innings full of flashes. Sups scored at a brisk pace with
70 on board in the first 10. The next 10 were equally thrilling with a quick retiring
innings from Barry, innings full of classy shots from Alex (21) and useful contributions
from Mike T, Gary and Alok. Sups ended with 140 in the allocated 20. |

The adhoc looked good in the first over but
started panicking early and lost wickets at regular intervals. Harish and Alok did some
early damage and handed it over to Gary and Mike D. Gary bowled a superb spell (including
a maiden) and removed two in an over and Mike D followed the pursuit with another 2. After
his excellent performance in field Jack and Mike T took over and finished the game in style.
Jack's one-handed catch off his own bowling was one of the finest sups have seen in a
long time. He ended the day with 2 wickets and 2 catches. NJ's quick 27 gave oppo some
hope but with our star bowlers in action it was just a matter of time. In the
end sups won by 55. |

Good overall team performance
