I somehow ended up with the book and so will attempt to write the match report (it is now under lock and key at work so I hopefully won't lose it between now and weds). Last Thursday evening we played ATOC at Regent's Park (prepare for some train jokes), not sure if we won the toss but we definitely fielded first. |

The opposition batted well with 3 players retiring on 25 and then coming back in to cause more damage, our bowling was tight and although Sandeep didn't take any wickets he did keep 'keep on the right track' and repeatedly 'steamed in'. Palao took a good catch and Will kept wicket to his usual high standard. ATOC set us the target of 149 to win. Palao took two wickets, Dan Taylor three and Demaria two (apologies if I missed anyone out). |

So with the challenge set, an air of anticipation hung around the ground like the steam from an engine waiting to depart from Paddington, Will and Sandeep opened the batting and played some fine strokes, Will was out for 4 at which point I stepped into the breach and scored 3 before getting caught. The batting was abit patchy and reminiscent of England, Barry and Noman scored well getting 23 and 35 respectively, but unfortunately ATOC bowled well and railroaded us into defeat being 96 all out (although we were one player short). |
