Superstars turned up to an alternative Bank of England 2020 Tournament as the Bank
had pulled out the day before. We were left with a 3 way tournament of 18 overs a side with no extra balls for wides/no balls and
only swapping ends half way through the innings [the later being a strange arrangement your scribe isn't keen on]. We were due to play
Treasury first, then KAI Dragons and then the other two teams would meet in the final match while we'd be in the bar sipping
champagne. In our dreams i'm afraid as, despite having a strong looking 10 players we simply played badly in both matches. It happens.
But it was a beautiful day. And a cracking tea. Let's not mention the umpiring of one of our opponents. |
