Superstars cruised to a comfortable 7 wicket win in sweltering conditions
against a much improved Green Socks outfit. |

Supers fielded first, with Kumar (H) and Anand bowling great line and length. The fielding
was tight and the pressure was maintained by Aranha and Duggan. Merv made the first breakthroughs, and Duggan weighed in with two more
wickets before Mountain polished off the tail. Chris had arrived late and without kit, having forgotten that he was playing. Dressed
(apparently) as an Australian Postman, in a blue work shirt, blue swimming shorts and trainers, Chris bowled four batsmen and had a fifth
caught outstandingly by Harish at Mid On. Green Socks had nurdled their way to 88 all out, with Mountain finishing with best ever
Superstars 20/20 figures of 3.2 - 1 - 7 - 5. |

Openers Spencer and Walker knuckled down and batted out the best bowlers; punishing the bad balls
and providing a solid foundation for Owen and Gigg to move Superstars close to victory. A lull in the 15th over was ended ended by
a few lashed boundaries from Gary Phale, and Anand finished the game in style with a sumptuous cover drive with 22 balls to spare. |

The beer flowed on the Chiswick patio as both teams toasted an enjoyable game,
played in a jovial spirit and notable for a bowling performance by 'Postman Pat' - as recorded in the Green Socks score book. |
