Barry opted to bowl even though Alok had yet to arrive and two of Rhys's young friends were helping us out
to make up the numbers. Their opener raced to 26 before retiring but after that the bowlers took control on
a tricky wicket. Everyone except Gary took a wicket with John Bishop having the best figures of 3-1-6-1,
Matt even convinced the umpire to give a lbw. With Adam behind the stumps, for the first time I believe,
I even managed a run out and on the next ball Rhys deceived the batsman with a looping ball to get a wicket.
Mention must also go to Steve who watched a shot trickle down to the boundary near the pavilion but it
stopped and the oppo ran FIVE. After 20 overs KT had made 106-6. So just over 5 an over to win. |

In reply we started with the experienced duo - Steve and Matt - Matt jogged along nicely to retire on 27
but Steve was tied down by their opening bowler Wood who ended with figures of 4-2-7-0. Steve struggled
to get the ball off the square and was somewhat relieved to be run out for 5 off 10 overs, with the score
on 38. John (15) and Adam (23) moved the score along but we were always just behind the asking rate and
so it came to Alok to try and score a six off the last ball; he eyed up the short boundary but a whirl
of the bat later and the ball was in the keeper's gloves so we ended on 101-5 just 5 runs short.
