SUPERSTARS CRUSHED BUT HISTORY MADE |
|

Superstars were soundly beaten by a talented, young and athletic LSE side (was there a mix up
over who we are?) at the Berrylands ground. However history was made as RHYS MEYLER, son of Chairman and Superstars legend Steve, made his
debut at the age of 9 years and 48 days. |

The game with Superstars looking short on the bowling front and so it transpired with
LSE taking full advantage despite Jason's 3-37 in 7 overs. It was a challenging target with only Will (49) and Barry (40)
really troubling the LSE attack but also making notable jug avoidance entries. In the end Steve and Rhys were left an impossible task to
gain victory and Superstars lost by 86 runs. |

It was Rhys' big day though and may be we should have more players of his age
as he didn't drop a catch, hardly misfielded and would have no doubt guided us to victory if placed higher in the order
than number 11 - hapless captaincy by Barry. He told his dad he would kill him if he got out but unfortunately Rhys was caught
looking for his first run with a powerful attacking shot. |
