MANDARINS CRUSH SUPS
On another gloriously sunny evening at the home of cricket (sorry, Abbey Rec.), Superstars arrived in eager anticipation of another tightly-contested against that familiar foe, the Mandarins. The season's second iteration of the Dan Forman Derby™ began with Sups taking the bat (surprisingly). Openers Bishop and Conway took to the crease in optimistic fashion, however a lethal spell from Mandarins openers tore through the top order, with Diwakar, Kinnard and Williams all batting in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it manner. With Superstars staring down the barrel at 19-4, safe hands in the form of Lovell (15) and Reeve (27*) arrived to steady the ship. The recovery continued to thrive, with skipper Gigg making inroads, before graciously surrendering his wicket to Forman in contestable fashion. A gentleman and a scholar, as ever. Valuable contributions for Plahe (8) and Boulby (13) gave Superstars a score of 108, with the prospect of a competitive chase enthralling the dog-walkers of South Wimbledon.
The second innings began in blistering fashion, with Mike "The Demon" Wood terrorising the top order, ably supported at the other end by the GSP. Despite a flying start from Superstars, with the two openers falling for 0 & 8 respectively, Mandarins soon found their groove, and accelerated quickly towards the target, two retirements and a 24 providing the anchor for a successful chase, with Wood, Boulby and Lovell taking a wicket apiece. Mandarins vanquished the Superstars for the second time this season with 9 balls to spare, sending the home side trudging the Trafalgar in search of some much-needed refreshment. Cheers to that.

A sad single picture

Notes.
Notable drop: None spring to mind
Notable catch: Williams clinging on to a catch from mate Wood's bowling, with the threat of a tongue-lashing if he dropped it sending shivers down his spine.
Comedy Moment: Kinnard's overly enthusiastic celebration to breaking a run of three golden ducks. Absolutely quacking.
Stat: None we're aware of.
