SUPERSTARS GO WEST
With no sign of the Phantom Barry stepped in as captain but not before Matt had either won/lost the toss and we were fielding with an orange cherry. Our ex chairman Will returned reassuringly behind the stumps. The first few overs went well with Diwakar holding a sharp catch at short mid wicket off Rob and Vijay taking one over his shoulder in the deep. At the halfway stage Treasury were below 50, then Will took a sharp catch behind off Guy. Mark reckoned he took his first two wickets of the season with one a proper wicket hitting the top of off. Chris T and Alex came on to bowl to the lower order but far better batsman, Chris took a wicket with his first ball thanks to a catch by Rob on the boundary. The incoming batsman then hit 30 off 11 balls as Treasury made 134-8.
In reply Vijay raced to 28 with support from Diwakar 9 and Matt 10 so by the halfway stage we were 72-3. Queue the customary Superstars collapse but on this occasion it was excellent bowling from the same chap who had hit us around the park, a certain Mr West. By this time it was also quite dark as Mr West kept hitting the stumps in his 4-6. It all finished with Vijay and Barry in the middle of the wicket after another yes/no call from the skipper (again!) as we were all out for 93.
