HAMPSHIRE ALCOHOL BAN IN MAY |

Those Superstars who follow the news will be aware that Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Police have passed an alcohol
ban in public places for May. Hampshire has recently experienced high levels of drink-drive deaths and alcohol-related teenage crime and have taken this tough action after several e-mail
protests by locals. The NHS is also believed to have been involved after a surge in the numbers of people abusing staff and generally requiring treatment in the early hours. The council
point out that the ban will be over in time to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. |

Clearly as responsible citizens and believers in responsible drinking the Superstars Committee, who discussed the issue at an Extra-Ordinary General
Meeting on Friday, totally backs the ban and will be following it. We believe it seems sensible to make this year's tour a "dry tour" as it's too late to arrange fixtures outside the county. |
