Secretary's Report |
The Secretary thanked the Chairman, Treasurer and Fixture Secretary for their hard work behind the scenes over the season.
Once again it had been another successful year on the pitch. He commented that the club had not managed to attract as many new players as in the past and that efforts should be
made to rectify this. He praised the club for its role in enhancing inter-departmental and departmental team spirit and promoting sport for all. He also congratulated those players
who had won awards last year. |

Arrangements for 2002 Season |
The Treasurer put forward proposals for next seasons DOETRA bid. Members considered these to be appropriate. The bid for the coming season
included a small amount for early season nets at the Oval. This was felt necessary as other free options such as the DTI nets had been explored but it was made clear that non-DTI
members were not welcome. Members felt this was unfortunate as it clearly went against the spirit of cross-cutting inter-departmental co-operation. |
For the coming season it was agreed that as well as trying to arrange fixtures with teams that it had played regularly in the past, the
fixture secretary would contact a number of new clubs in order to maintain the variety of competition and standards which the club had been set up to provide. |

Any Other Business |
The need for new kit was discussed. It was agreed that, among other kit required, the club would purchase a helmet, arm guard and thigh pad.
This would protect members from the more wayward bowlers that had recently been faced. Simon Gundry agreed to look into advertising for new players for the coming season by way of adverts
in the tea points and foyer TV screens. The fixture secretary for the coming season would once again be Steve Meyler, ably assisted by Ken Block. The club thanked both players for their hard
work in this area. It was agreed that club subscriptions would remain the same for the coming year. |
