Simon "smoking" Gundry is a tall, rangy all-rounder with sparkling wit and a bat called 'uzi'.
Simon is one of the few players to be blessed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. This blessing has obviously paid off as Simon's mysterious shoulder injury, which during his early career games tended to flare up towards the end of his first wicketless spell of bowling, was often healed as if by the miracle touch of god just when the rabbits appeared at the crease to bat towards the end of the innings.
Simon's extremely accurate bullet like throw is a sight to behold and has been the terror of a number of club wicket keepers who have suffered numerous bruised fingers trying to bring them under control.
With a decade of Superstars service behind him, Simon holds a variety of impressive individual records and has racked up countless nominations for 'biggest poser in the field' and on occasion winning this coveted prize. A motivator of men and stalwart of successful Superstars 6-a-side teams, Simon could never be accused of resting on his laurels, despite only playing a handful of games in the last 2 years due to the emergence of a wife and 2 kids (this time off has also helped to heal his mysterious shoulder injury).
Simon is a former committee member.
Simon is also the only player when on tour to upset a man with a beard so much that the man called him the "Village Idiot" (which he most certainly isn't).
Simon is three catches away from being a member of all four statistical clubs (1000 runs, 50 wickets, 50 catches and 100 caps). The main string to his bow is bowling and he is 4th in the career wickets tally with the best average of all qualified bowlers. He is second in the batting averages, with an average over 50 - although he was not out two thirds of the time and thus protects his average cleverly.
