Pre Tour. |

Our preparations for the season were mimimal, a couple of nets at Archbishops Park, although changing al fresco was in fact a good preparation for our first game on
tour. Two games had been arranged before the tour but the ground were still waterlogged and it was with some surprise that the tour was able to go ahead at all. My thanks therefore go to Paul and Ken for all their
hard work in getting a good hotel and some very good fixtures. |

Tour Practice at Colne. |

Paul wisely chose to miss this game as the clubhouse was shut and we had to change out in the open again. The only interesting fact from the game was that six out of the
seven on my side all scored sixes (me, Matt, Tim, Craig, Simon and Yogesh) with only Jonty missing out. |

Game 1 v Yorkshire Forward at Flaxton. |

Paul obviously thought he could tire us out by arranging the fixture a half a light year away from the hotel and on a ground that looked as though it had last seen
some play some years ago. Worst of all for spectators the pub was shut at lunchtime! Still it was sunny and El Capitano Stevie Carter was already sensing a second tour victory as the the opposition were displaying
Sandemas type qualities in the knock up. |

Game 2 v Gargrave |
At the best ground we are ever likely to play at (Geoff Boycott apparently made his first hundred for a Yorkshire side at this ground - [Ed - research suggests
in 1962 for Yorkshire 2XI]) they put us into bat and we scored steadily reching 101-6 when Simon joined Craig at the crease. Before that Stevie Carter had unwisely bet Mike T that he would reach 10 and was
duly out for 5. Simon and Craig both went on to score fifities. Everyone chipped with a wicket or two including Stevie Carter who had their batsman in stitches with his cunning action. |

Game 3 v Foulridge |
It was with some trepidation that we approached this game, with just the eleven players left at the end of the tour. Apart from their opening bat we acquitted ourselves
well and restricted Foulridge to 208. In reply we rattled along to 99-1 with MAtt scoring 50. It couldn't last and didn't as their quicks ripped through us and we were all out for a creditable 160. |

Summary |

We were fortunate that the tour had gone ahead as lot of the Dales were shut due to foot and mouth. It was therefore no surprise that foot and mouth reached Skipton a week
after we left - well Jonty was bleating that he couldn't fit any more in - I thought he was talking about the kit. |
