Our only trip to North London this season saw us turn up with 3 debutants (Jack, Aidan and Paddy), 1 CIPA loanee (Darling) and 2 players making their first appearance of the season (Sears and Hanif). The late inclusion of Matt Sears' mate Aidan allowed Sir Steve to put his feet up at home along with his Horlicks and Bara brith. Once a quorum had arrived we got away at 6pm with the skipper duly losing the toss - that's 2 in 9 won. CIPA opted to bat in a reduced 18 over game. |

Matt Sears opened with a fiery spell, while Dan dropped it a bit short and the opener raced to 25. On spying a rabbit Dan asked to kept on and was summarily hit for the longest six of the day although he did get his man later in the over. From then on regular wickets were taken Dan 3 Duggers 2, Aidan 1 Darling 1. One of the wickets included a great catch by Jack off a steepling shot; he later redeemed himself by dropping one close to the boundary. Duggers also took two catches and dropped one. Dan, Aidan and Mike 'the mic' McCann took the other catches. Unfortunately all these wickets brought the opener back in and crucially as it turned out he went on to score 44 in a total of 132-8. |

In reply we struggled against some accurate bowling and together with JB's extravagant air shots - ten dot balls - we had only scored 31 after 8 overs. However Paddy Appleton, lately of Hendricks, took a liking to the change bowlers and hit two sixes before retiring. Darling came in and kept the score ticking over before perhaps inevitably he was run out by the skipper. The skipper then tried and failed to hit enough boundaries, was dropped twice but ended up 26 no. In the end we made a creditable 117 -7. |

Post match it was noted that the top wicket takers this season were Duggers with 7 and Dan with 6 so the race is on. Duggers left a bit early due to a mosquito attack or it might have been his round! CIPA were friendly as ever and it made a change from Chiswick.

Notable drop: Jack dropped one on the boundary, Mike D let one slip and the opener had more lives than a cat sactuary. |
