A really poor effort meant SIX Superstars turned up
at Sunbury for their game against Hounslow Leisure - a team we've had wonderfully close games against
in recent years. Ric managed to get 2 friends and HL kindly provided Don to play too. |

As we were short and players were yet to arrive Superstars batted first in an odd situation of not knowing how many wickets they had to play with. Matt Conway, Ric and Ric's mate (1) were dismissed for 14 combined and we were in trouble. It was time for senior players to step and surprisingly the skipper and vice did, until Barry ran out Paul foolishly for 30. There followed another collapse with Ric's 2nd mate, Guy, Don and Gary not making much impression. Ric and his 1st mate even returned for a 2nd go to make a game of it. Superstars made 98-9, Barry 27no. One of their fellas got 5 wickets. |

The fact that Hounslow were made to sweat was down to some
excellent bowling, some fielding that wasn't as hapless as usual and the relatively high temperature. Ric's 2nd mate (0-12) and Guy (2-19) bowled some really good stuff at the start, Matt C (2-19) and Ric (1-33)did a good job but in the end HL made it in the penultimate over. |

A good effort in the field from Superstars, whose
lack of numbers of brains with the bat made it virtually impossible to win the game. Still, the bar was
good as usual. |
