SUPERSTARS ENGINEER BIG VICTORY |
Superstars took on LU Engineering at the pleasant surroundings of Parliament Hill
with a strong looking side looking to put in a good performance after the farcial
loss against RSSB the day before. Unforunately the opposition
only had 8 players as another LU had a game on that evening too so we batted first. |

Speno was quickly back in the hutch after a quick 25 retired, while Paul - after a slowish start,
built to a crescendo with a six and a five in his innings. The wicket was slow with the second bounce yorker a particularly dangerous delivery
to face. Chris Mountain wasn't as fluent as usual but still nicely reached his 25 while Gary Plahe was bowled for a Superstars high score of 23.
Superstars had gone along at roughly 8 an over through the innings and late order slogging by Vijay (15), Harish (9no) and Mike Taylor (1no) kept
them there with a fine total of 158. It looked a good score against 8 players on a slow wicket. |

While LUE battled and batted well in truth they never looked like making the total. Moxon and
Varghese made the initial breakthroughs and then Mike Taylor, Harish and Merv wiped up the rest of the wickets. We had won by over 100 runs for the third
time in the season. Strange times. The match was followed by nice drinks in the Bull and Last and the news that each tube line has its own cricket
team. |

Post match Addition: It has been mentioned to me by the very modest Mr Mike Taylor that he took his 150th catch for
Superstars in this game - the first player to reach this milestone. Well done Mike! |
