POOR SUPERSTARS PUNISHED BY TREASURY AND CAB OFFICE. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Firstly an apology. The puns and asides in the report mainly centre
around the Treasury, economics puns etc. If Cabinet Office did anything interesting or pun-worthy they'd
get equal treatment!

As Roy was held back by traffic Barry actually won the toss
(I think) and elected to bat. It was to prove the first of many errors as Superstars collapsed in a hapless
fashion. To be fair Treasury bowled with such control it was like they an invisible hand but at one point a
score of 80 looked out of reach. Only Alok, batting at number 10 (25 retired) and Roy (1 not out of 1 ball)
could take any credit from the performance. May be Superstars were focussed too much on the Olympics and
need to get back to watch some fencing but it was blink and you'll miss it stuff. In end we sneaked to
just over 100. |

Roy, having taken 5 wickets against the same opposition earlier
in the season, had his tail up but he and Alok bowled well without luck or adequate backing in the field.
Both Sandeeps and exciting new signing Arun had a similar experience (with some overly ODI type wides harshly
thrown in). Gary at least took some wickets and Vijay, let's politely say "pumped up after a close decision didn't
go his way", fired in a tight spell which took it to the penultimate over but that made it look closer than
it really was. You've probably worked out it was a poor performance, and there's no one better to punish the
poor than our "friends" at the Treasury. |
