A good start at Abbey Rec - the changing rooms were open. Commons OB, including a number of spads who went by the initials GGM and GGB - elected to bat and a couple of big hitters made 25 before Harish took a sharp running catch and Vijay a ten times better one as the ball was hammered back to him. There were 3 run outs inc another deep throw direct hit from Alok. Wickets went to Vijay 2-19, Matt 1-6, Rick 1-15, Konrad 1-15. Commons ended up at 108-8. The break in play enabled everyone to observe the boot camp antics going on next to the pitch which seemed to involve wrestling various girls to the ground - Jason to note. |

In reply Matt went to 26 off 12 balls and Owen made 17 before he was run out jogging to the bowlers end - his excuse, the fielder wasn't going to hit the stumps from short fine leg - he did. Will Walker batting like a dream made 18 before being caught on the drive - average must be 160+ now. Rick 22 and Faisal 9 saw us comfortably home with 5 overs to spare. Errol upped the ante by popping round to the pub and buying a large jug of beer - good man. |
