If we'd fielded all 19 available players we might have had a chance.... |

Chris and Paul Andrews opened the bowling, after 8 overs EH were 50-2. After 8 overs of the Superstars innings, the score was 12-6. The EH innings lulled in patches but was mostly brutal. Wickets were sprinkled around, with Mountain, Andrews, Duggan and Dan Taylor all taking scalps, with good catches from Binns, Duggan Williams and Walker. Controversy too, with Matt running out a backing up batsman after fair warning. Our batting didn't go very well, ducks for Walker, Conway and Gigg, only Aranha(26), Mark Williams and Mountain put up any resistance - to be fair, their opening bowlers were pretty good. Lets hope for a more fruitful match against Dodgers on Thursday. |

Best wishes to Mike Duggan who did a great impression of Liu Xiang. |

Diagnosis - a partial tear of my calf muscle. Treatment - rest, ice and ibuprofen. Prognosis - full recovery in 4-6 weeks. Thanks to those who offered sympathy and assistance, in particular Mark and Barry who helped me off the pitch, Chris for loan of his bat as an improvised walking stick and Matt and family for giving me a lift to the station. |
