KEN STARS IN COMEBACK VICTORY |
|
|
|

A magnificent comeback led by Ken Block meant
Superstars grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat (for a change) in this great encounter at Greenwich Park - a
popular ground in front of a countryhouse with a nice pub nearby. |

With such beautiful surroundings even though it was a 40 over match
both teams mustered 12 players so it was agreed the match should be 12-a-side. Superstars batted first and
collapsed badly. So much so that the 11th wicket patnership of Ken Block and Mike Taylor was not only required
but had time to eek out an undefeated stand of 44 with Ken leading the way with some classical lofted shots. |

Bhoyed by what was clearly an unusual partnership Ken returned to bowl
excellently and in a close finish Superstars clinched victory for one of the great comebacks. Ken was head and shoulders
Man of the Match. |

In what could well end up a never defeated record Ken and Mike's stand of
44no is a Superstars Record for the 11th Wicket. It seems unlikely to be ever matched. As I write (in 2013) it is
higher than the 10th wicket Partnership. |
