Despite the late withdrawal of the new Sandeep (alas not even the old Sandeep could replace
him) 10 Man Superstars arrived at Chiswick hoping to whitewash Dodgers in this 18 over a side Ken Block Trophy clash. Barry won the toss
and the shock clearly affected our openers with Conway (10), Aranha (0) and Gaught (4) all dismissed early - Gaught walking despite no one
else thinking he was out. Jim Owen and Himanshu rebuilt the innings but Jim was bowled by Rob Fox just as he was beginning to look good
(11), Fox also dismissed Barry for 3 (a second catch for Kim "the cat" Matthews) and then Himanshu, after a typically aggressive and
entertaining 30. Ian Moxon batted well for his 13 not out, with Jason, Michael Duggan and Roy contributing. Rob Fox took 4 wickets for
the "old enemy". Superstars had only made 89 for 8 in our 18 overs. |

Superstars needed a good start and despite good bowling from Ian (4-0-19-0) and Roy (4-0-19-1)
only one wicket fell - Roy bowling Matt Taylor with a beauty and gaining the nickname "The Chef" for a reason i can't recall. Barry
changed tactics and bought on spin twins Jason and Matt but neither were able to split the controlled aggression of Mike Dollin and Sacha.
There were close LBW appeals and dropped catches but Dodgers deservedly won the dead rubber match sometime in the 16th over, despite
the efforts of next bowlers Himanshu and Michael Duggan. |

A consolation victory for our old foes, however with Superstars already 2-0 up in the series
it was like giving a starving dog a rubber bone. Shame to end what has been an excellent season on a low note but the Ken Block Trophy
is safely "home". |
