SUPERSTARS FAIL TO TWINKLE IN "STARS DERBY" |

It was one of those matches for the mighty Superstars. A train strike and various ther issues meant we did really well to raise a team (10) with Dan in particular providing lifts and a "ringer". Eventually we arrived at Chiswick in dribs and drabs and due to that the toss was negotiated and we batted. |

|
Tim Baxter and Matthew Conway opened the batting but with Conway and Az Harris dismissed early (12-2 in the 4th over) there was the kind of panic club cricketers are well aware of with pads flying around and whatsapps on missing players being sent. Luckily we just about managed with Tim (14), Abhi Dasgupta (10) and number 5 batter Mike Duggan (5) holding the fort. It was only Dan Forman (22) who really made an impression on the scoring and Superstars also threw in a classic collapse from 69-4 to 71 all out with new signing Wahaj, Nikhil Gidwani and Konrad CHodzko-Zajko performing an excellent binary boys impression. 71 looked a long way short but better than not playing. |

Superstars tried their best, Konrad and Wahaj bowled well. Dan took a wicket in his only over but the task was too great. We lost, Allstars had 5 wickets and over 6 overs in hand. |

It's not the beautiful game but sometimes fulfilling the fixture is the important element of the day and we got there and gave Allstars the agreed fixture. |
